My thoughts on Inktober + My highlights

Now that october is finally through with! I thought I’d share a couple thoughts I had on the whole event.

I started out very motivated and got many drawings done, however, towards the end my motivation faltered. In short, I got really effing tired of ink.

But! I did learn to appreciate constructing healthy drawing habits. Posting (on my instagram) and drawing every day encouraged me to keep the pace. The feedback I got from others motivated me to keep going. (No matter how much I wanted to quit.)

I got a total of about 20 or more so drawings done. Some of them weren’t in ink but most of them were. Here are my favorites (highlights) of this years Inktober!

Day 12 – Rainy days FT. My dog Ruby
Hallucion painting
Day 2 – My absolute favorite
Day 14 – Tea heals

Here are just a small collection of my favorite drawings I’ve done this month.

All in all, Inktober helped me grow as an artist and deepened my perspective on how to use Ink. It helped me construct a new meaning on my own art style and I developed a new appreciation for artists who can draw every day even in the chaos of life.

I hope the rest of you have had fun as well! Share your own learnings in the comments (I’d love to read them.) And I’ll see you all next year for Inktober 2018.

    1. You’d be fantastic! I’m sure. Besides, the whole point of Inktober is to challenge your ink skills and improve.
